Privacy policy

This policy covers oxfordshireremovals.uk and the removals service operated under the name Oxfordshire Removals. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

• Enquiry details — your name, phone number, email address, pickup and drop-off addresses, your preferred moving date and any notes you send us through the quote form.
• Survey information — notes, measurements and, where you agree to a video survey, a record of what was discussed. This includes an inventory of the items to be moved.
• Booking and job records — the addresses, dates, crew and vehicle assigned, and any correspondence about the move.
• Website analytics — anonymous usage data via Google Analytics, used to understand which pages people find useful.

Property information and why it matters

A removals survey necessarily creates a record of what is inside a specific address and when that address will be empty. We treat that as sensitive commercial information. Survey notes and inventories are held on access-controlled systems, shared only with the crew assigned to your move, and not passed to any third party for marketing.

If you declare high-value items for insurance purposes, that declaration is held with the same restriction and used only to arrange the appropriate cover.

Why we hold it

• To prepare and send you a quote — at your request, before any contract exists.
• To carry out a move you have booked, which is the performance of a contract with you.
• To arrange parking suspensions or dispensations with the relevant local authority, which requires your address and the date.
• To prepare customs documentation for international moves, which requires an inventory and identity documents and is a legal obligation.
• To meet accounting and tax record-keeping requirements.

Who we share it with

Only where it is necessary to do the job: local authorities for parking arrangements; customs authorities and our destination partners for international moves; our insurers where a claim arises; and our accountants for financial records. We do not sell your information and we do not share it with third-party marketers.

Where your information goes

Quote enquiries submitted through this site are transmitted to our lead-handling system over an encrypted connection. The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which is subject to Google's own privacy policy and terms of service.

For international moves, information necessarily travels to the destination country in order for customs clearance and delivery to happen.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted once they are no longer of any use. Completed job records, including inventories, are kept for the period required for insurance, claims and accounting purposes, and then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we have no continuing obligation to keep it, or object to how we are using it. You can also withdraw consent to marketing at any time.

Cookies

This site uses Google Analytics cookies to measure usage, and reCAPTCHA on the quote form to prevent automated abuse. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page. Material changes affecting an active booking will be communicated to you directly.
