Where the loads run
From Oxfordshire the route is the A34 or M40 down to the M25, then the M20 to the Channel — Dover for the ferry or the Eurotunnel terminal at Folkestone, depending on the load and the schedule. From Calais the routes diverge: north-east into France proper, south through Paris and down the A10 for Spain and Portugal, or south-east through Lyon and over the Alps for Italy.
We collect from anywhere in the county. If part of your move starts elsewhere in the UK — London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Glasgow or Edinburgh — we can usually take that in on the way, which is a common arrangement when a household is being consolidated from two places.
What changed after Brexit
Household goods moving from the UK to an EU country now need a customs declaration in both directions, with a detailed inventory and proof that you are taking up residence at the destination. Most people moving permanently qualify for transfer of residence relief, which means no duty on used personal effects — but it has conditions attached about how long you have owned the goods and how long they must stay with you.
We prepare that paperwork alongside you rather than handing you a form and wishing you luck. It is the single most common place an international move goes wrong, and it is entirely avoidable.
Timing
How long a move takes depends on the route, whether your goods travel as a full or a part load, and how quickly customs clears at each end. Your written quote includes an estimated window based on the actual specifics of your move. We do not publish a single figure, because a full load to Normandy and a part load to the Algarve are not the same journey.

Do you collect from anywhere in Oxfordshire?
Yes — Oxford, Banbury, Bicester, Witney, Abingdon, Didcot, Wallingford, Wantage, Thame, Henley, Chipping Norton and the villages between. We also collect from the major UK cities on the way to the crossing where a move starts elsewhere: London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Why only four countries?
Because these are the routes we actually run and the customs processes we actually know. A firm that lists thirty destinations is subcontracting most of them, and you find that out when something goes wrong at a border. We would rather cover four properly.
What paperwork will I need?
A detailed inventory of everything being moved, proof of your address in the destination country, identification, and a customs declaration in both directions. Transfer of residence relief is available in most cases and removes duty on used household goods, but it has conditions. We prepare the whole set with you.
Full load or part load?
A full load means the vehicle is yours and travels directly. A part load means your goods share the vehicle with other consignments going the same way, which costs considerably less and needs more flexibility on dates. Most household moves to Europe run as part loads.
Can you store things at either end?
Yes, at the UK end as standard, and at the destination through our partners where the delivery address is not ready. It is common when a purchase abroad has not completed.
